Allen & Overy global arbitration co-head Matthew Gearing QC has left the firm to join Essex Court chambers in London.

Gearing has been principally based in Hong Kong since 2008 and has been a partner at Allen & Overy since 2005, having joined the firm in 1997. He took silk in 2014.
