Morrison & Foerster has hired a partner and an associate from Jones Day in London.
The firm said on Monday that partner Ed Borrini is joining its global real estate group and department. He is joined by associate Tamsin Davies.
Borrini leaves Jones Day’s London office after over 15 years, according to his LinkedIn profile. He previously trained and qualified at Allen & Overy, and had stints at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom and Clifford Chance according to his LinkedIn profile.
Mark Edelstein, chair of Morrison & Foerster’s global real estate group, said in a statement: “The real estate industry is a strategic focus of the firm and Ed’s practice aligns well with the needs of our global real estate-focused corporate, funds, lender, and private equity clients in Asia, Europe, and the U.S. His arrival will generate strong synergies with our global real estate practice group.”
Borrini’s practice focuses on real estate finance across a number of asset classes for both investment and development transactions. He represents clients in the hotels, care homes, business parks, retail, and residential sectors, amongst others, according to Morrison & Foerster’s statement.
Jones Day did not reply to a request for comment in time for publication.
The hires are the first for Morrison & Foerster this year, after it had several London departures in 2020, including a four-lawyer private investment funds team and global co-chair of M&A Graeme Sloane.
